Tube Laser Operator

Department : Laser Cutting

Job Description :

• Machine Setup and Operation:
• Set up and operate tube laser cutting machines (e.g., Trumpf, BLM, Mazak, Amada).
• Load and unload materials (tubes, pipes, structural components) onto the machine.
• Adjust machine settings based on material type, thickness, and job specifications.
• Ensure correct alignment and clamping of the workpiece.
• Reading Technical Drawings:
• Read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and work orders.
• Understand tolerances, dimensions, and materials specified in the job file.
• Quality Control:
• Inspect cut parts for accuracy, surface finish, and tolerances.
• Use measuring tools (callipers, micrometres, gauges) to verify dimensions.
• Identify and correct defects or misalignments during production.
• Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
• Perform routine maintenance (clean lenses, nozzles, filters, etc.).
• Troubleshoot machine errors, alarms, or cut quality issues.
• Report any mechanical issues to maintenance or supervisors.
• Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain production logs, quality checklists, and machine maintenance records.
• Track material usage and report scrap or rework.
• Safety and Compliance:
• Follow all safety guidelines (PPE, lockout/tagout, etc.).
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and manufacturing standards.
• Optional Skills or Additions:
• Crane operation for moving heavy materials.
• Experience with bevel cutting, rotary axis operations, or multi-axis machines.
• Cross-training on flat laser or other fabrication equipment.
